Ellen & Christian | Married | Glencliff Manor Wedding | Virginia Wedding | Fall Wedding by Rhiannon England

They’re married!!!! I couldn’t be happier for these two. Ellen in particular has become one of my closest friends over the last year, so to get to be there to document all of this for them was so special. A lot of the guests and wedding party all go to the same martial arts gym as me as well so I was partying right along with them!

Ellen and Christian, I wish you both the absolute best as you start your new life together in Maryland. Get ready for a bunch of Edge people to come and crash your apartment! Haha!

Halloween Inspiration Shoot | Ravens Roost | Blueridge Parkway | Spooky Season Styled Shoot by Rhiannon England

Happy Halloween spooky lovers!

I love it when a plan comes together! Once again, I had another of my crazy ideas and decided to drag some friends to the top of a mountain to execute it. Don’t worry, I bribed them with my undying love and affection ;)

Seriously though, these guys killed it! My sister Shelby and her best friend Taylor are both aspiring makeup artists in pursuit of formal certification. So, with spooky season came the inspiration to do some crazy, gouhly, smoky, un-dead makeup to showcase their awesome talents ( *ahem* and to give me something cool to photograph too…). My other sister ,Taryn, and her boyfriend Tyler modeled the bride and groom makeup by Shelby, and Taylor modeled his own makeup look as a stand alone character. I didn’t really have a story line behind this shoot. It was just something crawling around in my head that I needed to put in front of my lens. Feel free to paint your own picture or imagine your own story :)

Ravens Roost was my initial source of inspiration. The breathtaking view and rocky outcropping set the mood perfectly. It had just rained earlier in the day, and the sun broke through just in time to illuminate the mist and fog left in the valley below. The bouquet by Bloom By Doyle’s added just the right amount of color to breakup the black in the clothing without being too bright. STUNNING. They sat on my table for at least a week afterward because…WHY NOT?!?

I hope you all enjoy my little trip to Halloween town!

Victoria & Zach | Married | Trivium Estate | Virginia Wedding by Rhiannon England

Phew! What a crazy October it has been! Back to back weddings, including my sisters (which I was in instead of photographing….weird…) which meant lot’s and lot’s of work and planning. So if I seem to have been a little radio silent on my socials, that would be the reason haha. Getting back into the swing of editing and blogging now though!

And what better way to start all of that off then with Victoria and Zach’s GORGEOUS Trivium Estate wedding! These two are SO. SWEET. Seriously, one of the most bubbly and genuine couples I have ever worked with. Their chemistry is made up of corny jokes, funny faces, and enormous quantities of laughter. I am so thrilled that I got to be there for them on their big day <3

Cloverlea | English Garden Styled Shoot by Rhiannon England

The first time I ever set foot on the property of Cloverlea, I was blown away by the grounds, the house, and the incredible view of the mountains. I was second shooting and hadn’t yet started my own journey with my business. The wedding was for a woman named Trish. Her and her husband tied the knot in front of a gorgeous reflecting pool. Little did I know that a number of years later I would be organizing and executing an amazing styled shoot with that same woman on that same property!

Trish approached me a while ago to discuss some ideas she had for photography packages for Cloverlea (she works for the University of Lynchburg ,who owns the property, and helps run their observatory programs). We had plans to meet up and kind of do a walk through of the property so I could photograph the grounds and do some promotional photos for one of their upcoming observatory events. On the Monday of that week, Trish calls me and pitches the idea of pulling together a shoot since the weather looked like it was going to be amazing. I was totally in! We started planning immediately and by Saturday, we had managed to execute what I believe to be a pretty exquisite looking editorial shoot!

We could not have pulled this all together without the time, talent, and willingness of the vendors involved to hop on our crazy train haha! You guys are amazing <3

Frances & Tyler by Rhiannon England

I got to know Frances and Tyler when we did their engagement session back in April. Instantly loved them! So fun and easy going, plus the bride is from my home state of New Jersey so how can you beat that?!

Their wedding day did not disappoint! All throughout you could feel the love and excitement that everyone had for the bride and groom. So many loved ones came together to celebrate their union. Frances was doted on by her amazing brides maids, and Tyler spent the whole morning laughing and carrying on with his best buds.

Tyler and Frances decided to do a first look (highly recommend from a photogs perspective by the way <3). After they saw each other for the first time, we summoned the wedding party for some amazing group shots!...which were quickly post-poned when a thunderstorm blew in before I could even click my shutter once... haha Thankfully, we had plenty of time and only had to wait it out for about 30 minutes before the sky opened up into a beautiful blue! Crisis averted!

Their ceremony was held down by the gazebo at the pond on the Trivium Estate grounds. Sweet, hand written vows were shared and the love birds tied the knot! The ceremony was followed by cocktail hour on the porch and lawn. The previous rain storm cooled everything down beautifully and guests were content to mingle and chat outside before the official start to the reception.

Laughs and merriment were continued in the ballroom after formal introductions were made. The remainder of the night was filled with great food, dancing, live music, cake smashing, toasts, jokes, sunset portraits, and even a spontaneous performance from the bride that was “hot and fresh out the kitchen” ;)

All in all, a fabulous day!

Christian & Ellen | Engaged | Forest Virginia Engagement by Rhiannon England

And here is part two! We finally landed a bright and sunny Sunday to do the outdoor portion of Christian and Ellens engagement photos. The wind was INTENSE, but we were able to shoot in between gusts and get some marvelous shots that didn't include Ellen being strangled by her own hair haha!

Ellen & Christian | The Edge | Lynchburg Virginia Engagement by Rhiannon England

This engagement blog will actually be two parts and I'll explain why. I know Christian and Ellen through the martial arts gym I go to, The Edge. Super fun couple! They are both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu blue belts and incredibly skilled in Muay Thai as well, so naturally we had to bring those elements into their engagement photos. We had to split their session to two different days due to rain, one indoor location and one outdoor. They wanted to do some photos inside the edge which is where they met and also where Christian proposed. Best. Idea. Ever. They turned out so unique!

Rachel & Jason | Wood Farm Brewery | Lovingston Virginia Engagement by Rhiannon England

These guys have such style and class. They are both dance instructors and compete in salsa, swing, and bachatta competitions all across the state! I've known Jason for a while, and just recently got to know his beautiful bride to-be while doing their session. We went out to Wood Ridge Farm Brewery, their favorite place to go and grab a nice pint (which I had never been to before and of course got lost trying to find). Who knew you get such killer shots at a brewery?! Instantly sold. I need to take all of my couples to breweries now. Plus, beer. Enough said.
