Brittany & Trevor || Trivium Estate Christmas Wedding || Lynchburg Virginia Wedding by Rhiannon England

brittany-trevor-trivium-christmas-wedding--158.JPG

I did Brittany and Trevor’s engagement photos last November. What a fun couple! Trevor is definitely the more outgoing one while Brittany is more chill and laid back. They definitely balance each other out in that way.

I had been looking forward to this wedding for over a year because I knew it was going to be Christmas themed! What’s better than a Christmas wedding? Few things let me tell ya. Brittany picked colors that matched the holiday spirit in the air. Her bridesmaids were decked in cranberry red dresses and bouquets that burst with deep evergreen. The halls of the Trivium Estate were decked with lights and garland ushering in that warm Christmas feeling. Together, the girls all primped and prepped while I went to see how the guys were doing.

Trevor and his guys were just chilling as they waited for things to get started. They each wore grey, three piece suits accented by that same cranberry red as the girls. He was trying to look nonchalant, but I could tell he was anxious for everything to get rolling haha

Then came the ceremony. The Trivium staff adorned the ballroom to be simply magical. A tree was set up on the stage to be the backdrop for the ceremony. Lanterns and flower petals lined the aisle giving everything a romantic glow. Brittany was nervous about being in front of so many people, so the ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point. That didn’t make it any less special though. Trevor lit up the moment he saw her, and Brittany seemed to lose sight of everyone but Trevor. They shared their vows and all of the guests went to enjoy cocktail hour while the ballroom was expertly flipped from romantic ceremony site, to warm and inviting reception hall.

While all of this was happening, I snuck off with the bride and groom to the front of the manor for some pictures. Trevor works for a landscape company and every year they do the lights outside of the Trivium. It looked amazing! Everything was trimmed in soft white lights framing the couple perfectly for some evening portraits.

After this, the bride and groom were introduced as husband and wife and joined their guests for the rest of the party! Lot’s of fun was had by all as they danced the night away. The tables were decorated with white lanterns and more evergreen to help set the mood. Later, the couple made their exit while canons of confetti were shot off to signal their departure. Over all, a magical night!

Ryan & Daron || Glass Hill Venue Wedding || Goode Virginia Wedding by Rhiannon England

This wedding was such a whirl wind! Ok, so a fellow wedding photographer, Heather Kidd, of Heather Kidd Photography had booked an associate wedding back in June. For those of you who don’t know, an associate wedding is when a photographer is booked for the day that you’re looking for but will offer to have another photographer that they trust come in and shoot your wedding in his/her stead. All of the editing and processing is still done by the main photographer so everything stays true to the style and quality you are looking for. Great offer to give to clients.

Unfortunately, for reasons completely beyond her control, Heather’s associate shooter was unable to work the wedding…she found this out HOURS before everything was scheduled to start. HOURS! Quickly she gets in touch with me and, miraculously, I was free and just sipping coffee in my pajamas. I got everything squared away as fast as I could (yes, I changed into real clothes first) and rushed out to Glass Hill. Daron, the bride, was so understanding and completely laid back about the entire ordeal and had complete and total confidence in Heather’s decision.

Once everything got rolling and I became acquainted with my last minute clients, the day unfolded beautifully. Ryan, who was actually Canadian and moved to the US to be with Daron, was celebrating his “American birthday” that day. First official day as a US citizen! Because he is so patriotic and excited to be and American, Daron made sure to have an american flag hung in the room where the guys were getting ready. You could tell that the two of them were so in love. Ryan only had eyes for her and all day long his antics never failed to make Daron belly laugh! The gorgeous mountains that served as the backdrop for the ceremony caught the light wonderfully and all of the guests got to enjoy a beautiful and heartfelt ceremony as the two became husband and wife.

The reception was full of creative ides such as an “I Spy, Wedding Edition” and seating numbers that had to be replaced with Polaroids of yourself once you took it. Canadian butter tarts made with apples from Ryan’s home town made up part of the desert bar along side Mama Crockett’s Cider Donuts. The evening was composed of playful toasts, heart felt speeches, and lots of dancing. All in all, 10/10 wedding!

CJ & Dani || Sunny Slope Farm || Harrisonburg Virginia Wedding by Rhiannon England

cj-dani-sunnyslope-farm-wedding-9T3A9862.jpg

I associate shot this wedding for the lovely Ashley Eiban of Ashley Eiban Photography this past April. Clear skies and sunshine throughout the day plus the worlds sunniest bride, Dani, made this Sunny Slope farm wedding simply radiant! CJ and Dani could not have been sweeter to us or each other. The love they share is of that old fashioned kind that will surely withstand the test of time.

They decided on a first look to maximize the amount of portraits we could get, and let me tell ya, it was worth. EVERY. SECOND. I am simply obsessed with these images! Between the gorgeous blue sky, rolling green fields, perpetual breeze, and Dani's dress (!!!) things couldn't have been more perfect! Let's not even mention those sunset shots... You just gotta see for yourself guys.

Their intimate ceremony was followed by a wonderful tent reception with great music and lots of dancing! CJ is a Pilot in the military so you can see personalized touches of that throughout the decor.

I can't wait for you all to feast your eyes o this gem of a wedding! Enjoy!

Brad & Kaitlyn || Bottling Company Wedding || Lynchburg Virginia by Rhiannon England

At the beginning of March, I had the pleasure of associate shooting this cute wedding for the lovely Ashley Eiban of Ashley Eiban Photography! Brad and Kaitlyn were SO sweet. They got married at Old Pate Chapel and had they're brunch reception at the Bottling Company Reception Hall next door. They wanted to keep their wedding party intimate, so they decided to forego the traditonal bridesmaids and groomsmen and just have it be them and some adorable ring bearers and a flower girl. They had their first look at Old City Cemetery in Lynchburg, just the two of them with some portraits afterward. One of the things that I love about a first look is that the bride and groom get an intimate moment with each other, away from all of the hustle and bustle of the day, and afterwards there is this big contented sigh as everything becomes right with the world again. All the pent up energy and nerves get washed away as soon as they see each other. A great move in my opinion!

After portraits, we headed back to the church where all of their family and friends from near and far were gathered to witness them become husband and wife. The reception followed right after and the celebration commenced! Mama Crockett's did it again by providing a donut tower in lieu of cake! The food was awesome too! I mean, who doesn't love a good breakfast spread? One of thing things that struck me about Kaitlyn was how attentive she was to her guests. She made sure that each of them felt special and taken care of by visiting with each of them and getting a picture. She is seriously so sweet!

The reception ended with a bubble send off, and Brad and Kaitlyn swept away with me to Sweet Briar College for some more portraits (gotta love it when the bride and groom build in extra time for that!).

All in all, a pretty fabulous day :)

Morgan & Kameron || Old Pate Chapel || Tresca On Eighth || Lynchburg Virginia Wedding by Rhiannon England

IMG_2839.jpg

I have been excited about this wedding for a while now! Morgan & Kameron are the sweetest couple and their engagement story is one of my favorites ( go check out that blog to see what I mean).

Morgan and Kameron got married December 2nd in the Old Pate Chapel and had their Reception at Tresca on 8th in Downtown Lynchburg Virginia. The weather was just cold enough for you to know it was winter, but not biting enough to freeze everyone's toes off ;)  Morgans maids were dressed in dark blue and her decor and flowers were full of creams and golds to fit with the winter theme. There was so much laughter shared by everyone that you couldnt help but feel just as joyous as everyone else involved!

Take a look everyone and  experience the day with me!

Amanda & Ryan || Historic Avenel Wedding || Bedford, Virginia Wedding || Spring 2018 by Rhiannon England

I had the pleasure of getting to know Ryan and Amanda while doing their engagement session in the fall. They are some of the most vibrant, fun loving people you will ever meet! Every time I'm around these two, I laugh the whole time! The love they share is tangible and their personalities compliment each other beautifully.

They were married at Historic Avenel in Bedford Virginia on May 27th. Both being lovers of vintage goods, they wanted to bring that theme into their wedding. Old cigar boxes filled with succulents made up the center pieces for their tables. Amanda was adorned with pearls and lace and her hair and makeup had that old hollywood flair to complete her classic elegant look. In lieu of cake, they decided to bring in none other than Mama Crockett s to do the dessert. Their reception was brimming with details like jenga blocks to sign instead of a guest book, a cigar bar, and a hand painted corn hole set that was given as a gift by one of their guests (also I took the pic she used as inspiration... just sayin'... ;) ). All together, this wedding was beautiful and a joy to photograph!

Chris & Carly || A Backyard Garden Wedding || Boonsboro Virginia by Rhiannon England

This wedding was so quaint, sweet, and brimming with creative details! The ceremony was held in the backyard of the brides family home in Boonsboro Virginia the morning of a beautiful summer day. Baskets of sunflowers were lovingly put together by the mother of the bride. The courtyard in the backyard was set up for the ceremony using chairs and benches as seating for the guests. An adorable shed served as the centerpiece for the ceremony. The brides dress is vintage from the seventies. I love how you unique it is! Of course, it helps that it also looks stunning on her :) After the ceremony, a lunch reception was held at Oakwod Counrty Club. Enjoy!
